Danielle Duggan, Acupuncturist

My journey towards becoming an acupuncturist started 10 years ago through my interest in martial arts and energetic arts. I began by attending a course being held by my kung fu teacher on The Dorn Method in Frankfurt, then attended a course on acupressure before deciding to study acupuncture in depth through the College of Oriental Medicine in Ireland, where I am from.

I studied with the late Eddie Dowd and graduated that course having had a tremendous introduction into the Chinese healing system and being really inspired to take my learning further.

I spent the next year focusing solely on Tui Na massage with Xian Tian College in Manchester under the guidance of Rob Aspell. This set in motion my love and appreciate of Tui Na massage and working hands on with people. To this day, I find Tui Na such a joy and a deeply beneficial modality of healing.

From there I went on to study Acupuncture further with Xian Tian College, again with Rob Aspell and also Damo Mitchell in Manchester and Portugal. During this time, the pandemic hit which meant no hands on training for a year but an abundant opportunity for lots of theoretical learning via zoom.

I graduated in 2023, after recently having relocated to Dorset. I practiced out of Whitchurch Canonicorum before setting up my practice full time in Charmouth in September 2024.

Treating people with Acupuncture and Tui Na is a great privilege for me. I love working one on one with someone and getting to the root cause of an issue, walking with them on their path for some time until it is no longer needed and seeing change in them and their life as a result.
